The signature
One day, choreographed.

Flowers arrive
Dahlias, two buckets more than ordered. Kept the spares — you'll see why at 22:00.
Quiet breakfast, separately
Both houses fed, phones collected, one groomsman reattached to his cufflinks.
The quiet ten minutes
Twenty guests early, string trio already playing. We hold the room; the couple holds hands in the vestry.
Ceremony
Rain due 15:20 — moved the confetti line indoors at 14:15. It rained at 15:22. We do not gloat. Much.
Speeches, trimmed
Three speeches, nine minutes each, rehearsed with us twice. Not one joke about the stag do survived edit.
The spare dahlias
Every grandmother leaves with a bouquet. This is why we keep the spares. This is the whole job.
Send-off
Sparklers, taxis pre-booked to the minute, one planner crying discreetly by the cake table.
